At what condition would I need a high altitude jet for my carburetor?

If your engine is operating above sea level and you are experiencing rich running conditions (i.e. fouled spark plugs, hard starting, etc.), you may need to adjust the carburetor.

Please note that engine power will decrease 3-1/2% for each 1,000 feet (300 meters) above sea level and 1% for each 10° F (5.6° C) above 77° (25° C). This is due to the depleted oxygen levels at higher altitude (typically, anywhere between 2,000 to 4,000 feet above sea level).

If you have any other questions, your best source of information would be to consult an Authorized Dealer.

NOTE: Please read and abide by any applicable Safety Information (PDF) before performing any engine work.
